"The Day the Crayons Came Home" by Drew Daywalt is a follow-up to his book The Day the Crayons Quit. It's all about crayons writing letters to Duncan, telling him why they're upset about how he used them, being misplaced and forgotten! Each crayon is eager to return, so Duncan makes a special castle to make them feel more like home, realizing that they are not in good shape and too misshapen to fit in the regular crayon box anymore.
